How many times have you heard someone moan “Ah, to be young and stupid!” Well this person clearly got the stupid right. Just a few days after the single worst college campus violence in our nation’s history many people have taken to threatening various schools with notes such as the one below that was found at the University of Minnesota Campus. There have been 10 such occurrences in the past couple of days. What is the appropriate punishment for this type of action?
Obviously they have too much time on their hands and haven't learned anything in the American education system.
Whoever wrote it couldn't even spell "Administrations Building".
Sad but true, I think we're a country rotting from the inside out. We won't need to worry about foreign threats soon.
Agreed. I commend the University for acting with caution, but come on. If someone is hell-bent on bombing some buildings, there's not going to be a warning note.
A friend of mine posted this quote from a kstp.com article:
In Minneapolis, the evacuation order frightened some students. K. Berg, 21, said she was walking into Walter Library when "this girl, like, shoves me down the stairs. [...] I have stuff to do today, and I just think it's ridiculous that people feel the need to post bomb threats or kill other people."
I was torn between a desire to laugh, being appalled at her self-centered-ness, and granting a tinge of sympathy.
as far as i'm concerned, they should be punished just the same as if they'd actually carried out their threats. guess it's a good thing i'm not a judge.
